On Opening Applications from the Terminal in OS X

Tuesday, April 27, 2010 by Thomas L

Let's say you have used the Terminal in OS X to navigate to the directory containing a file you want to open with the default program, e.g. the .xcodeproj bundle. How do you open that file?

It's as simple as 'Open MyApp.xcodeproj'.

The same goes for when you want to open an app. 'Open MyApp.app'.
